Dear members, friends and interested parties of the DEF,
The summer holidays are almost over – and we hope you all had a relaxing time, so that now together with us, you look forward to our Autumn/Winter programm.
We gladly look back to the visit in Karlsruhe in May this year of our English friends from Nottingham and the wonderful week we had with them. They were inspired over the balanced program which was offered to them during the whole week and thank us for our friendly hospitality. Our return visit to Nottingham next year will take place from 18-25.6.2011. If you wish to visit Nottingham next year, you can register under the telephone number 0721-7569503 or via e-mail.
We would like to point out to you, that an Extraordinary Membership Meeting (only for DEF members) will be held on 16. November 2010. It is very important that everyone takes part at this special meeting. Reason being the „Amendments to the Articles of our Club“. An invitation will be sent to you at a later date. If you can not attend, may we please ask, that you fill out the enclosed form with your „Vote about the amendments to the articles of our club” and send it back to us fill out and signed. The „Amendments to the Articles of our club“ are urgently required, in order to continue the status of the non-profitable character of our club.
Unfortuantely we have to inform you of the sad loss of two of our long-term Club members, Elan Gavish who died on 17.5. and Peter Platz on 20.6.2010. We will keep them in honored memory. Their families we pass on our sincere sympathy.

that we can welcome you at some or all of the program events.

ENGLISH CONVERSATION CIRCLE (ECC)
EVERY 3rd TUESDAY IN THE MONTH
(except August, September – summer break)

The English Conversation Circle is run by native speakers.
Come to our evening, listen and join the discussion group. You do not have to be perfect in English just listening is the beginning of improving your English skills.
We are interested in people who want to improve their English and have not spoken the language for some time. Even for those people who have a good knowledge of English but wish to take part in discussions the Conversation Circle is worthwhile.
Our conversation circle helps our members to improve their English in active conversation. Other members just come and listen.
A native speaker prepares subjects of interest and these are actively discussed. We invite speakers who give their talks in English, we have video presentations in English -- all with discussions thereafter. Come and hear for yourself – visit us in room 4 of the Anne Frank Haus in the Moltkestr. 20.
