Even Robin Hood, the Sheriff of Nottingham and Maid Marianne were there in the “Bürgersaal“ of the “Rathaus” on Friday the 10th of December 2004 to celebrate 35 years of twinning between Karlsruhe and Nottingham. Alma Shipman, the president of the Karlsruhe Nottingham Friendship Club would not be denied the opportunity to done an authentic costume as Maid Marianne and the Lord Mayor of Nottingham, John Hartstone, proved to be far more open minded than his historic counterpart.
